Wisconsin Planting Season 2016

“And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said ‘I need a caretaker’ so God Made a Farmer”

John Deere’s and Jesus. A few of the many things instilled in me growing up on a farm. My dad is one of those farmers that God carefully made to help feed this world + I just wanted to share a day in the life of him with you all so you can appreciate him with me.

Planting season has once again come + gone for LSD Cattle Co. but this year is a little different. I was able to capture those memories on camera! For most farmers, it’s just the same every year. You plant the crop, fertilize it, water it, spray it, harvest it, sell it. Just a cycle that repeats itself. But these days aren’t something I want to forget. I want to remember these moments spent with my dad watching him do what he absolutely loves to do. I know I say this a lot but I truly mean it, I’m so blessed to have grown up on a farm + have a role in agriculture. Going to school + earning a degree in ag was one of the best decisions I could have made, following in my mom + dads footsteps. Being able to help my dad make decisions on his farm + to start a farm with Kyle is something that I’m thankful for.

So please enjoy these pictures as much as I do + take a good look at just the work it takes to sow those seeds in the ground.

This next set is my boyfriend Kyle getting discing and planting. It’s our first official year farming. Hoping to be as advanced as dad someday, but we all start somewhere. Farm on!

Beth + Jesse | St. Paul Sweetheart Session

Beth + Jesse. A perfect couple from the start. I went to college with these two + am so thankful to have met them!! I actually knew them both pretty well before they even started dating! Once they found each other, we all knew there was no turning back. They compliment each other perfectly + have a relationship anyone would adore. They live in the cutest apartment along the water in St. Paul, Minnesota. Which doubled as a PERFECT photography location! I’m so glad I could sneak over + see their place + hang out with them for a night before busy season really hits. Wishing you two all the luck + happiness, love you!

I had the honor of taking pictures of her and her friends for Prom this weekend. They are such a fun + beautiful group of girls! (and boys) + I’m thankful I was able to spend some time with them!! The pictures turned out fantastic! It probably help that these girls picked the PERFECT spot! Beautiful bridge near the water, check it out!

Instagram | Why you should NOT turn on post notifications!

So Instagram is going absolutely NUTS today, am I right?! Everyone is in a hard panic posting an arrow, telling people to turn on post notifications for their handle so they ‘don’t miss anything that’s to come!’. And it’s rather annoying if you ask me, don’t you agree? I’ve actually been tempted to Unfollow some people completely because of this. Well I’m going to tell you why you SHOULDN’T turn on post notifications, yes I said it, do not turn on post notifications for me, or for anyone else for that matter! You must be thinking I’ve lost my marbles or something right?? Because this is exactly the OPPOSITE of what everyone seems to be saying. Well hold onto your boots sister because I’ll explain in .5.

Datonn Hanke | Just For Fun At The Farm

Ok, this is BY FAR one of my favorite sessions to date yet! Datonn and I have been really good friends since literally elementary school. We were each others only friends in like 5th grade, I’m glad we grew out of that stage and stopped only talking about horses, haha! But I just want to say thank you for allowing me to apply what I learned at the Hope Taylor Photography Workshop and being my model. Because let’s be honest, you’re BEAUTIFUL + you are my ideal client. I had so much FUN with this and I know everyone is going to love these. The light + the truck + the horse (I’m pretty sure Mac is more photogenic than most people I know)…it’s all perfect!
